Projects of the Week

This week, surprisingly, went by fast. Ever since I opened my store on ETSY about a week ago, I've sold three prints. Since I want my customers to feel like they're opening something special I made sure the packaging was made specially for them. After shipping those out I was on to making a frame for a drawing I did of the "Supreme Leader" of North Korea, Kim Jong-il. I had to frame the piece in preparation for the September show at the Hive Gallery. I will be posting more info on that soon so stay tuned.

Looks that Kill

Looks That Kill - HD from Yuki 7 on Vimeo.

Incredible animation that's to die for by Yuki7.

Building a name

Building my name up online has been quite a tedious process for me. It's been an overload of clicking, typing, apple-z, and more clicking. My fingers beg me to take a break but I think about all the work that I need to get done and I push on. I should be trained for this though. After all, I was born into a generation that played video games so much, skipping dinner to pass a level or two was the norm. Along side video game consoles were computers and laptops and tiny cell phones. Everything is done with fingers! On top of all that I draw, paint and build things with my hands. Being an artist requires your hands for work that isn't consistent in muscle movements as say, typing or clicking. So I think by now I'm over due for arthritis but who isn't? I'm sure by the next generation arthritis will cease to exist.

LIVE ART at the ROCK AND ROLL BBQ

The first time I did "live art" was a couple of years ago at something that used to be called the Underground Tournament League or UGTL. I then did some "live art" for the Hive Gallery which turned out to be one of the best things I've ever been a part of. Since then I've been doing shows all over. This painting was done at the recent "Rock and Roll BBQ" that was held at Roberto's bar in China Town. It's been a great ride and I look forward to doing more shows.

I'll be posting more pics of my live art at previous shows soon.

Derby Angels!!!!

For my upcoming show which will take place this Saturday Aug. 6th at Roberto's bar in China Town, I decided to do a rockabilly-roller-derby-girl series. The idea derived from my friend in Chicago who is considering joining a derby girl team. This inspired me to create a character after her. This simultaneously occurred when I heard about this upcoming show so I decided to make a series out of it. If you would like to collect them all, stay tuned for the finished series on ETSY where you'll be able to collect them all.
